Scope of Works: To carry out surfacing to a U road which has protected verges and no passing places within 2k. The road was 3300m long and a logistical struggle. DSD managed to knock 2 days off the programme to ensure the local farmers could carry on with their jobs and not be held up with our operations. Our efforts were commended by the local Council for the quality and speed of our work. No verges were damaged in the course of our works and once again we left some very satisfied customers.

Scope of Works: To carry out surfacing work to new formation on the new car parking area. This work was carried out on behalf of Story Construction and took around 4 days to cover the massive area for the new Wigton Auction Mart due to open this year.

Scope of Works: To carry out alterations to 3 Roundabouts on the B6241 including carriageway widening, footways and traffic islands. Plane off and re-lay the roundabout on the B6242 / M6 J31a link. Widen the M6 J31a slip road with full new construction and create a new bell mouth junction just of the B6242, as part of the Preston East 278 works. All Wearing Course being used within the scheme is Cl942 SMA. Work is ongoing but being completed to budget within a tight programme period with restrictive site working hours.

Scope of Works: To carry out surfacing work to new formation including Car Parks, Haul Roads and Footways. Due to such a tight programme the site is a very busy place, therefore interface with all contractors is critical to meeting our deadlines.
Work is ongoing but being completed to budget within a tight programme period.

Scope of Works: To carry out cold milling and re-surfacing in various locations along the A596 Thursby to Workington. All Wearing Course used within the scheme was Cl942 SMA.
Work was completed to budget within a tight programme period with restrictive site working hours. It was also interfaced and co-ordinated with external traffic management and road marking crews.

Scope of Works: Surface Talkin Tarn car park, an iconic landmark to Cumbria’s heritage. Situated near the small Market Town of Brampton Talkin Tarn is a hot spot for local walkers, fisherman and water activities.
The tarn is glacial in origin, being formed about 10000 years ago, and is fed by underground streams.

Scope of Works: To carry out S278 works for a new Rickerby’s store. Located on the A601(M) and A6 Roundabout Carnforth. Works include the re-alignment of the existing roundabout approach and new site entrance, all new street lighting and road signs. All Traffic Management was carried out by one of DSD Constructions approved sub-contractors Road Safety Services.

Scope of Works: To carry out cold milling and re-surfacing in various locations along the A77 and A726. All 6500m2 were carried out under 4 night time closures with strict road possessions in place. There were 2 different Wearing Courses used within the scheme which were, Cl942 SMA and 30/14 HRA with 20mm Pre Coats.
Work was completed to budget within a tight programme period with restrictive site working hours. It was also interfaced and co-ordinated with external traffic management and road marking crews.

Tarmac Surfacing – West Lakes Academy
West Lakes Academy, Egremont for KIER Infrastructure and Overseas Ltd.
Contract period: September 2011 – December 2012
Contract Value: circa £300,000
Scope of Works: To carry out the tarmac surfacing work around the new school in the formation of new playground areas, coach and car parking, access roads and a TARMAC MASTERTINT Buff coloured surface course as part of the featured entrance scheme. DSD are accredited, approved installers of Mastertint which is a TARMAC special product.
Work included: ironwork adjustments and road markings.
Work is progressing well and the first stage handover to the school was achieved recently. We continue to monitor costs with the main contractor and the work is aiming to be completed on time and within budget within a deadline programme period.

Scope of Works: To carry out the tarmac surfacing work around the new school in the formation of new footways, access roads and a porous car park as part of a SUDS scheme.
Work included: Ironwork adjustments and road markings.
Work was completed to budget within a tight programme period with restrictive site working hours which required multiple interfacing and co-ordination with external utility and service supplier companies and the main contractor working within the main school site.
