Following the floods in Carlisle in January 2005 a contract was awarded to Volker Stevin Ltd to bolster the flood defences in the Warwick road area of the city. DSD tendered for the sub contract to construct the cycleway through Melbourne Park and from Catholic Lane to the river Eden.

IT was the first contract that utilised our new Voegle 800 mini paver. The tracked machine can lay a mat from 500 to 3200mm. Because the cycleway ran through the park dumpers had to be used to transport the material to the mini paver.
